Jonny Bairstow responds to critics with “If I Was Rubbish Wouldn’t Have Played 94 Tests” after scoring 99 unanswered

After his aggressive 99 not out assisted England in taking control of the fourth Test against Australia in Manchester, Jonny Bairstow has taken aim at those who have questioned his position in the England Test team. After Cameron Green caught James Anderson lbw, Bairstow became the seventh batsman in Test history to be left on 99.

Bairstow’s 81-ball knock, though, had already helped England reach 592 in response to Australia’s 317 all out.

You need to put things into perspective, Bairstow told the BBC. “I haven’t played in months, and it’s been three years since I’ve maintained properly.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-89397″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/www.theindiaprint.com-reviews-by-karan-johar-shah-rukh-khans-rahul-was-allegedly-saying-wrong-things-in-kuch-kuch-hota-hai-download-2023-07-22t174934.970.jpg” alt=”” width=”1147″ height=”859″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/www.theindiaprint.com-reviews-by-karan-johar-shah-rukh-khans-rahul-was-allegedly-saying-wrong-things-in-kuch-kuch-hota-hai-download-2023-07-22t174934.970.jpg 259w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/www.theindiaprint.com-reviews-by-karan-johar-shah-rukh-khans-rahul-was-allegedly-saying-wrong-things-in-kuch-kuch-hota-hai-download-2023-07-22t174934.970-150×112.jpg 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 1147px) 100vw, 1147px” />

“There’s obviously been a lot of talk and things like that, some of which I think has been a bit out of order to be honest, but that’s part and parcel of people having an opinion,” he said.

With 12 hundreds in his Test career, Bairstow claims he would have been “that rubbish.” He wouldn’t have survived to play in his 94th professional game.

“Everyone believes that I do better when others challenge me. To be honest, it can become a little boring. Since then, I’ve played a lot of cricket. The 33-year-old stated, “To keep hearing that you’re worthless – if I was so bad, I wouldn’t have played 94 Tests.

One of the most memorable moments of what is already establishing itself as a great Ashes series is Bairstow’s contentious stumping in the Lord’s Test.

Bairstow said, “It wasn’t how I wanted to be out down at Lord’s.” “You want to be playing the game, and you want to play the game like I’ve always played it, which is tough and fair.”

Australia was in trouble at 113/4 at day’s end, and bowler Josh Hazlewood stated he wouldn’t mind if it rained during play.

It would be wonderful to drop a few overs here and there to ease our work of holding on. It’s clear that we are far behind,” Halzewood remarked.

As England pounded Australia’s pacers, Australia’s skipper Pat Cummins seemed to be at a loss for words. Hazlewood said that his buddy would benefit much from the experience.

“It’s a good learning opportunity. He (Cummins) will undoubtedly sit down with the coaches and go over a few things, but Hazlewood noted that Cummins picks things up pretty quickly.
