Mythology Meets Modern Reality in Navneet Kumar’s Drishtant – 10 July 2022: Niyati aur Nirnay

CleverFox Publishing is proud to announce the release of Drishtant 10 July 2022: Niyati aur Nirnay, the highly anticipated second novel by acclaimed Hindi author Navneet Kumar. This compelling literary work masterfully weaves ancient mythology with the sharp realities of contemporary life, offering readers a profound meditation on karma, justice, love, and moral reckoning.

About the Book

At its heart, Drishtant – 10 July 2022: Niyati aur Nirnay is a bold retelling of the ancient mythological legend of Lord Vishnu and Mata Tulsi, reimagined through a contemporary lens. The narrative is anchored in one of Hinduism’s most enduring philosophical tenets: the inescapability of karmafal, the fruits of one’s own deeds.

The story follows Tamanna, a devout devotee of Lord Krishna, whose world is shattered by the sudden and mysterious death of her husband. Consumed by grief and on the precipice of self-destruction, Tamanna is repeatedly restrained from the brink by a divine force, one that instead lays upon her an extraordinary responsibility: to uncover the dark and clandestine misdeeds that her husband concealed during his lifetime.

As Tamanna begins her investigation, she finds herself ensnared in a labyrinth of secrets, moral corruption, and betrayal. With each revelation, the very foundations of her love and grief are called into question. The story confronts her and the reader with a devastating dilemma: Is the man she mourns truly worthy of her tears?

Set against the backdrop of Lord Krishna’s cosmic leela — the divine play of Tribhangillal Krishna — the novel transcends the conventions of a simple love story. It delves deep into the intertwined themes of betrayal, the pursuit of justice, and the transformative power of aatmotthaan (self-elevation). Through Tamanna’s journey, the author demonstrates how the timeless wisdom of ancient narratives continues to illuminate the fractured moral landscape of modern society.

About the Author

Navneet Kumar is a celebrated Hindi literary voice who made a remarkable debut with his first novel, Notebandi: Ek Surgical Strike — a groundbreaking work that blended fact and fiction to great critical and popular acclaim. With his second novel, Kumar takes a bold new direction, applying a modern analytical perspective to an ancient mythological narrative.

Navneet Kumar holds a deeply personal philosophy: that life without spirituality remains fundamentally incomplete. He believes that the true measure of literary art lies not merely in plot, but in the authentic portrayal and projection of a character’s innermost conscience — making the act of writing both a moral and a spiritual undertaking.

The author extends special acknowledgment to his school junior, Kartikeya Kushan, whose vigilant critique and meticulous refinement have once again elevated this new work to the highest standards of literary excellence, just as he did with the author’s debut.
